International Relations Academic Center – CAREL

This center is responsible for student representation and for the defense of student interests before the university structure, functions protected by the university’s statute. In addition, it also organizes activities aimed at the integration of the student community and at the promotion of higher standards of teaching at the Institute.

PET-REL

The Special Training Program (Programa Especial de Treinamento) – PET targets the improvement of the qualifications earned by graduation students, with an aim to prepare them for post-graduation, as well as for future professional exercise. The Program intends to provide favorable conditions for the undertaking of academic activities to selected groups of students, who must stand out for their interest and development potential. PET provides graduation students, under the guidance of a tutor-professor, with conditions for the development of extra-curricular activities, which will favor their integration to the labor market, especially in an academic career.

Domani – Junior Consultancy in International Relations

Domani Junior International Consultancy is a civil non-profit association created and led by International Relations students from UnB. This junior company, a pioneer in its field in Brazil, has the objective of providing students with the opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge in the International Relations course to real life, as well as of complementing their qualifications, in addition to providing quality services to the community at more competitive prices than those practiced by the market. The company offers consultancy services in the field of International Relations, managing knowledge and information about the international arena in its multiple aspects. Domani also provides assistance with foreign trade, conjectural analysis, consultancy in international cooperation, and training and specific qualifications, among others.

AMUN

Americas Model United Nations is the first United Nations model held in Brazil. Idealized in 1997 by students and teachers at University of Brasília’s then Department of International Relations, the event had its special edition fifth anniversary event in July 2002, and is now going for its seventh edition. Counting with the important support of institutions such as UNDP, UNESCO, FUNAG and the Ministry of Education, AMUN has the objective of providing students enthusiastic about international politics and negotiation with an opportunity to apply the knowledge obtained in class. Moreover, it also stimulates the enhancement of students capacity to work together, to speak in public in foreign languages and to respect cultural diversity.
